~Breath~

Another year has almost come and gone...some think of "out with the old and in with the new". Some think of New Year's Resolutions. Some think of change....and some like me, well they just may think of all the things that they wanted to do and time just has a way of slipping away....so many random thoughts I have at this moment.

This year has been givin wings and it took flight. My how time flies. I was looking at some pictures just last night and my how my children have grown. I promised my little Ninny that I would paint her room this year, well I purchased the paint and next month turned into several months later. I did get her room painted! I feel horrible thou, it was purchased Dec. 26th of 2007, how terrible. I was telling my son that and Ninny said, that is okay Mom, I know you were busy and you had to work. What a very understanding little girl. I had made a promise to her, to paint it this year and I did...just a bit later then I wanted too. Niiny is one happy little girl now. She loves her room. I am so happy that I got it done.

Over the break the kids and I (along with my sister and my Mom) we went and seen the Nutcracker Ballet, made cookies, played games, spent time at my Mom's for Christmas and we have cleaned. I think we have been bitten by a "Spring Cleaning Bug" and we have been going through lots of things and de-cluttering our home. That is a good thing. Makes ya feel good.

So, with that being said and the kiddies being on break, I have not worked on a thing. I think I needed a break and that will get my creating juices flowing.....I have many new ideas to share with you in 2009. Have a Safe and Happy New Year's Eve! See you in 2009. Blessings to you each of you, ~Tonya

~Merry Wishes~

From My Family to yours...Merry Christmas and a Most Happy New Year! I have had a very relaxing day today. No rushing around, just a quit day with my family. We had our Christmas today (because hubby has to work this evening and tomorrow).

I just wanted to say, I hope you all have a Blessed Christmas and make some wonserful Memories that will last a lifetime. MY WISH for you...click here and turn up your speakers. Love his song and it means so very much.

I would like to share one more song with you, if you have the time. Change, is what most of us think of, when we "Ring in the New Year", so here is one more, for you to listen to. It has a slow beginning, but the words move me. I know both songs that I have links to on here, give me goosebumps, when I listen to them. Peaceful Blessings to you and yours. ~Tonya

~Minnesota Winter~

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Tomorrow is the first day of winter, but we have had winter here, in Minnesota for a while. Yesterday school was canceled...we received about 8+ inches of snow...
This picture is out my back window. You can normally see beyond the trees and across the field. We are in for more! I hope we escape some of it. My sister and my Mom were traveling in this and they said the closer they traveled to my area, the worse it got. Single lane driving my sister said...glad they both made it to their destinations safely. I am not going out today!
This is out my front window and you can not even see my driveway. You can normally see for miles across the drive. Yesterday was suppose to be my day to do my last minute shopping and get baking ingredients. I had most of the stuff for baking, but still needed some. Here, shelves sure are getting picked over.

I ended up taking the kids with me.....so much for that last minute shopping for them. I hope I can go some other time before Christmas. I didn't want to be out in the "Rat Race" any later then yesterday. On Thursday evening I was baking cookies for Jordan to take to school.....needless to say, they didn't have school---so we have lots of cookies! *smirk*

I did hit Jo-ann's yesterday. How could one not? They have a TON of 50% off Coupons and I used a good portion of them, on things that I need in the future. Not big ticket items, just small things. I did get a little storage things for my little charms/beads and such and that made me re-organize my whole work area in my kitchen. I try to keep it organized, since it is in the open. But when I am working like a crazy women at times....that area is hard to keep clean. People just have to understand, that is my work space and Thank goodness for Dining room tables.

I must get busy and get some things done. I told the kids on their days off, after Christmas we are going through and deep cleaning each room. Oh what Fun! But it must be done. Besides, they can help and it is good for them. I have grown to "lax" with them helping and it is time I take the "reigns" back. Have a great weekend. Toodles for now....I will keep my finger's crossed that I will still have my internet through all of this. ~Tonya

12.17.2008

I listed these two on ebay last night, right after my handmades listed on my Selling Blog.....then, I was knocked off line again! I am getting very, very frustrated with it. I didn't even have dial-up. I have not had dial up (as a back-up) for a couple of months now. I don't much like dial-up, but I tell ya, it is better then nothing at all....

Both are listed for 5 days, to end on Sunday evening. I listed Merry Olde Soul, as a Buy it Now, so that if someone does want him for Christmas, they could purchase him and I could get him all packaged up and sent out priority...

I have much to do...I have not worked on anything for quite some time now. I must get busy. I was taking care of Ninny, the kitty and having a bit of a pitty party around here. Seems as if I am the only one around this house that have "limbs" that "function"...so, I have been a bit out of sorts lately and shedding a few tears. Not that ya'all wanted to know that...but thought I would share my past couple of days. So, with that being said, I hope to move past my sheer frustration and get some things done.

It is suppose to move above zero today (knock on wood) we shall see. At least the sun is SHINNING and that helps out so much. Have a grand day, ~Tonya

~FRIDGID COLD~

Well, I have only a couple of minutes and my internet will go out! Yup, on and off all weekend and now today, most of the day it has been out! It is just too cold for the wireless and the tower on the water tower is freezing over. Techs can not climb the tower, with the windchill. School was even delayed 2 hours today. Just think of the poor kids that have to walk to and from school...if my kids had to walk, I would NOT send them to school in this COLD! It only takes a matter of minutes to get frost bit.

Last night, with wind-chill factored in, it was almost 40 below. Too damn cold for me! I can't get warm, all I want to do is snuggle up and sleep. The funace keeps running and running. My Ninny was home today, yup....last night she was "tossing her cookies" (to put it nicely). She didn't go to school today. Needless today, I did not get much done. She is feeling better and will most likely go to school tomorrow. Today, in the middle of the day it was still about -9. It didn't warm up too much.

I am sorry, I have not been able to stop by blogs and such....I hope things get straightened out here and that we warm up a bit. I hope ya all have a great evening. Stay warm! ~Tonya

**NEW Snow Girl Dollie**

And here she is! My Sweet Choc-O-latte Snow Girl. I thought she turned out so very sweet. She is in perty pinks and brown. She just looks so yummy and festive. She will be listed on Spooky Time Jingles for tomorrows update....

I made her a fancy neckline with light pink and chocolate. Her woolen SNOW pretty, can be removed. I have stitched a pin to the back. She is one of my larger dollies. She is almost 26 inches tall....
She has such an innocent look on her face. Well, I must get busy and update my page for Spooky Time Jingles. I hope you all have a grand day! For me, once I am done here, it is off to town I go. I must get some Christmas shopping in without KIDDIES. Just think, next friday is their last day of school...for Christmas break and I have lots to do before then. Toodles, ~Tonya

~Snow~

We sure did get SNOW!! We received so much snow, there was NO SCHOOL for my kiddies today. I also had to CANCEL the Vet appointment for that little calico kitty-cat that we are fostering. So, I was a bit upset about that. I wanted her to go to the vet, to be checked, get her shots and also get spayed/declawed. Yes, she is getting de-clawed too. We are paying for that portion of it. They told me that was not covered by the Humane Society.

I talked to them about de-clawing and they said, they would give us the same discount, they would give the Humane Society. I feel if she is to get adopted, it would be better to have her declawed. I think her chances of being adopted would be better. Plus, if someone adopts her and then wanted her declawed, she would have to go through that much more pain and go under again.

These are the pictures I was finally able to take of her, so that they can post them...for adoption. I think her name should be "Missy". Short for MISUNDERSTOOD and also MISCHIEF. Ya all have seen her getting into her mischief, but she really is a very nice cat, just misunderstood. I honestly think she would work better for a family without smaller children.

She has taken to me, but is still a bit leary of me at times. She runs for the hills, whenever the kids are around. She comes out during the day and in the evening, when it is just her and I. I thought since she was younger, she would adapt faster then what she is. Something very terrible must have happened to her. I thought we would have gained more ground by now and she would be more trusting by now. I guess we have some major walls to break down. She is a very beautiful kitty thou. We just have to take it day by day.

Other then keeping warm. The kids keeping me on my toes and trying to get work done, that is all I have done for today. I hope ya'all have had a great day. Blessings, ~Tonya

~NEW Journal~

I thought I would show you my newest journal that I made here. I really enjoy playing with the graphix and then putting these together. They look so much better in person. I added a silver glittered snowflake and a little heart with a key hole that says, "Made with Love"...
This one will be on listed on Spooky Time Jingles, for the update on the 13th...the price fo the journal is $19.75. That does include PRIORITY shipping, with Delivery Confirmation, within the U.S. It is basically the same price at the one on TDIPT Mercantile, it is just that the shipping is right in with the price of the journal...
This is the inside of the journal. After all, who does not want Peace on Earth...
The inside back cover. Remember, all these pages are printed on a single layer of paper, but the graphics I used this time, just really "pop" and there is so much texture to it...the aqua really looks like glitter, so very neat...
And this is the back cover. I love simple pinecones. I hope you enjoyed your peek. If you are interested in purchasing one of these journals, you can always contact me. We are in for S*N*O*W and a chance at a storm...I hope it all turns out okay. Have a wonderful evening, ~Tonya

~2 NEW Patterns & feeling Disconnected~

I FINALLY finished up my two patterns, that I said I would have done a couple of weeks ago. This sweet little Snowfolk is from last year and I have had many requests for this guy and I am glad that I can finally share it with you. Here is the link to Patternmart. I only have it on Patternmart at the moment...

And here is the other pattern that I finished...My Sweet Lil Belsnickle Santa. Here is the link to Patternmart for this one. And of course if you do not want to purchase them through Patternmart, you can always email me at dandtturvold@deskmedia.com or backporchpickins@yahoo.com

I was feeling a bit disconnected this weekend, I was without my internet for a couple of days and I could not email anyone back, no posts to my blog and I could not even send out invoices for my items that sold on ebay.

We started to finally decorate for Christmas this weekend. We have to finish putting the lights and ornaments on the tree this evening. We are behind, but we will get there. All in time. I will also post a peek of my Newest Journal today or tomorrow......it will be listed on Spooky Time Jingles and I hope to try to make something else for Spooky Time, but time is running out.

I hope you all have a great day. I must get to work and I have to also package up some things and run to the post office. Toodles for now, ~Tonya

~My TDIPT Swap~

I received my Swap today from Joyce of Ragpatch Primitives!
Thank you so much Joyce, I love everything...

Beeswax goodies, a yummy candle, Warm Vanilla Sugar Gel, room/linen spray, a handmade dishrag and so much more. There are a couple of close-up's below...

My sweet lil Snowgirl cupboard tuck, love her. A sweet vintage style post card...

Here is a close-up of the goodies! I already ate the wonderful candy in that lil bag. It was the BESTEST ever! I must try to get some more of that for me. *smirk* Joyce also sent "Cow Tails" for my kids (carmel and vanilla) so very thoughtful of her to think of my kids.

I so needed this wonderful package today to pick me up from our sweet Cassie passing away. She was so much more then a bunny rabbit. She was more like a kitty-cat and now we feel a "void" here at home. Time has a way of healing...Sweet Cassie is in Heaven with the Angels.

Well, other then staying warm and keeping busy, nothing much else is going on here. I hope you all have a great weekend! Toodles for now, ~Tonya

12.03.2008

Great Sadness...

I went to feed Cassie tonight, when I was tucking the girls into bed and Cassie had passed away....sometime during the day. How very sad. I would always feed and pet her each night for quite a while, when the girls would be picking out clothes for the next day of school and such.

No for warning or anything, she was just fine. I think that is the hardest part, not being able to say good-bye while still alive. Poor Cassie. I hope she has wings as beautiful as she was to make her flight to Heaven. Peaceful Blessings, ~Tonya

~SNOWFOLK~

I finished my SNOWFOLK Trinket Box and it is going on ebay this evening. I love these two color combinations...Robin's Egg Blue ane Creamy Chocolate. I am very pleased with the way that it turned out. I love playing with dots and such...
And I also finished up this FUN nodder. When I took pictures, the wind was just a blowing and well, it was a bobbing...nodders are certainly neat for sure! This one will go on ebay this evening too. They will list for 5 days and end on Sunday evening.

Other then working, nothing much else going around in my neck of the woods. Oh yes, I did get my swap partners box out and I just can not wait until she gets it. See, we know who we are sending too, but not who we are getting from. I hope to get my box this week some time as well. The deadline for shipping out was Dec. 1st, but you could ship as early as a week ago...so maybe mine is already in the way?

Any who, it is back to work for me....and tonight we are suppose to get some more snow. So Ta ta for now, ~Tonya
