A Sneak Peek...

I thought I would share one of my offerings with you. This is for TDIPT Mercantile and I so Love the way that she turned out! Faith is a Back Porch Pickins Original. I have been quite busy with things around the ole Homestead and not getting too much done.

I have started a new dollie for eBay as well. The weather has been so very nice around her lately. We had frost this morning on the splinters of grass. It was so neat this morning while we were waiting for the bus at the end of the drive way...

My youngest daughter, Sydney said "What is that white stuff on the grass?". I don't think she ever paid attention to it before. She went out and touched the grass....she said that is cool. So neat when little ones learn and to watch the excitement on their faces.

I just thought I would say "Hi", I have been a bad blogger lately. I hope you all have a great day! Peaceful Blessings and Keep the Faith, ~Tonya

~Snow Queen~

Here they are! I said I would post pictures. It is very windy out and was blowing the flag around....

I hope you have a great day. Busy here, so I must go. Have a great day! Smiles, ~Tonya

Finally...

I have not posted in a while. I have been busy creating thou......just very slow going. I started a NEW dollie back when I got done with my Dottie Doll. I FINALLY finished them. It is a Snow Queen and baby. So very SWEET! I made them Americana. I purchased a bunch of Americana fabric this past spring and summer and I could not wait to use it. It has been "screaming" my name. *smirk*

I will be listing them on Saturday evening on eBay, for a 5 day listing. Maybe I will give a sneak peek tomorrow.......I hope I get good pictures. We have had sooooo much rain and FINALLY, it is suppose to be nice tomorrow (Saturday)......knock on wood!!! I think the gloom & rain was getting to me a bit. Now I have to work on my Mercantile dollies!

Well, my Mom is doing great. Me and the Kiddies went to her house yesterday and had a nice visit. My kiddies had the past 3 days off, so I have not gotten much done. I just thought I would say "Howdy"! I have been a bad blogger lately. I appreciate your comments and emails. I may not always get back to every single one of you and I am sorry for that.....but I appreciate them.

I hope you all have a Wonderful weekend and take some time for YOU! Many Blessings to you and yours, ~Tonya

Party Girl...

I am so EXCITED about this Little Girl! I LOVE the way Dottie turned out and she is very different for me. She has little painted dowel leggins, she is full of detail and olde thyme charm. I may make a Collection called ~Wee-Little Leggin's Collection~ My mind is just racing with ideas for new little Wee-Leggins...

I have her scheduled to start tonight and she is only a 5 day listing. I have much more time on my hands these days....with all 3 of my kids in school and I am loving it! I am finally caught up on everything and nothing but time on my hands!! Yeee Haaawww!!

My Mom came through her surgery with flying colors and is already going home tomorrow. She told me before her surgery, she was aiming to go home on Sunday and by gosh, she is! I am so glad things went well. Now for the healing process at home.

Well, I had hubby cut another base for a Wee-Little Leggin's before he went to work tonight, but I am very tired, as I got a "Wild Hare" to finish Dottie, the Party Girl last night and was up until 4 a.m.!! You can always tell when I get lost in a dollie and before you know it, it is almost time for the birdies to start chirping. Well, I am off to clean and maybe start on a New Leggin's dollie! Happy Trails to ya...~Tonya

Good Luck Mom...

My Mom is having a new hip put in today. I hope all goes well. She had her left hip replaced a few years ago. It didn't stop her too much. She healed quickly, she was determained and she is a "Trooper"! She is quite young to have a hip replacement and now, this being her second one.

With it being her right hip, it may keep her down a bit longer, as she needs to be able to maneuver those pedals for driving. She is a bit young for a hip replacement, let alone this being her second one. I wish you much luck Mom and here's to a SPEEDY recovery!

I created that new Snowfolk over the last couple of days and I am done! YAY! I am going to be listing him tonight and to end on Sunday. My Autumn dollie, I listed her for 7 days and I just feel that is too long...who likes to wait any how. *smirk* I think he looks so sweet....innocent.

He holds 3 mittens in his hands, spelling out J - O - Y One letter, pinned onto each mitten. To see the rest of him, you will have to check ebay out this evening. It sure feels like Wynter here this morning! When I was taking pictures, I was freezing my little fingers off. Oh the JOYS of Wynter!

Well, I have many things to do today. It has gotten a bit crisp around here and is feeling so much like fall. I bought myself a new Yankee Candle the other day, it is ~Frosted Pumpkin~ scent. It sure sets the mood for Autumn around here. I hope you all have a great day.
Many Blessings, ~Tonya

A Nice Weekend...

I have a **NEW** Dollie listed on ebay...I finally finished her! It has been quite a while. I like the way she turned out. I love Autumn, it is my favorite time of year. Well this weekend we went to "The Big Island Rendezvous". It is a step back in time, with fur trading, tepees and good old fashioned handmades...

It is at a beautiful park (Bancroft Bay). It was hot and windy, but we had a nice time any ways. We heard some stories, saw cannons being shot, watched a man being arrested and then off to be "branded". A reenactment of years gone by...

The tepees were so very neat. There are several people, that are involved with the Big Island Rendezvous, as well as vendors. They had singers, dancers, weavers, spinners, etc...

It was a beautiful day...lots of walking and sites to see. The kids begged for everything in every tent. It wouldn't be normal if they didn't *smirk* It comes but once a year, for 3 days and it has a big turn over. It brings people from all over. I even bought some wool roving and some flax. So, I will be using that in time on my dollies.

Some vendors had tables, some layed their "Goods" right on the ground, on top of fur. So many things for sale and things to look at...

Today (Sunday) we all went bowling. We have not gone bowling for a loooong time. We had so much fun! Good thing I stayed up late on Friday and Saturday and finally finished my Autumn dollie......I have been working on her for quite a while. I was so Happy to finish her and I am very pleased with the way she turned out. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Oh and I am having problems with my email, so if ya should need me in the next day or two, email me at
backporchpickins@yahoo.com
I hope you all have a wonderful week.
Have a Restful Night Sleep! Many Blessings, ~Tonya

Learning so Much!!!

I am learning so much! Who would have ever thought you could learn so much...just being a maker of dolls! I am talking about today's technology. I learned to do basic HTML, just so my dollies could look perty on eBay (templates and such). I have learned to do so many other things, but today I learned how to put my patterns, into a PDF File Format!

Who would have ever thunk? Surely not me! It took me a while to learn how to do this, but through sheer determination and persistence, I GOT IT! Now, I can do them myself and I am so HAPPY! The gal that does my PDF's does a nice job, but I thought to myself...what happens if she ever stops doing PDF's? Where does that leave me. I am not one that likes to count on others. It does not matter what it is. If I want to do something myself and I set my mind to it, I will do it! It is just how I am. I call it being self-sufficient, others call it stubborn. *smirk*

Well, I have been working on a dollie, I actually have two going. I may finish one this weekend. I hope to anyways. I have been very busy with packing supplies. I think people are gearing up for the Holidays ahead. It was so hot here today...in the high 70's to low 80's. That is unseasonable warm for this time of year. Well, I must scoot......so much to do, so little time. I hope you all have a GREAT weekend. Many Blessings, ~Tonya

Crazy Kids...

Yup! Those are two of my kids! It was Homecoming here on Friday and Jordan went all out! In his school, he could, for the little ones, they said "No Hair color spraying"....no FUN! When I was in school, we went all out too. You are only a kid once and so what if you have Cherry & Blue hair for a day! *smirk* It took a looong time, to do that to Jordan's hair on Friday.

Hey, I have been so busy that I don't know if the Tiger's won their Homecoming or not! Geez! Any who, I did get my Autumn and Hallow's Eve decor out yesterday. Looks so nice. It is my Very Favorite time of year.

I am coordinating our "Secret Santa Swap" for our TDIPT Group and we all found out our names today. YAY! This is going to be so much FUN! It gives you something to look forward too. I am like a kid in a candy store, with swaps.

We also went to "Game Plan" this weekend, a Disney Movie, very good family movie. Even before the movie was over, my girls were asking, when it comes out on DVD....will you buy it? They are so funny. They think we need all of them on DVD ya know. The Pictures for my Olde St. Nick Pattern....the patterns that were suppose to go out today, have been screwed up by my photo store again! So they may be a day late, getting them in the mail. I am so sorry....

I hope you all have a great day. ~Tonya
