I used Ann's (Crowing About Primitives) wonderful wool for her hair. Ann is having a sale on her wool starting tomorrow. She has some of the best wool and I love using her wool. I hope you all have a great day....now, I must get busy. My studio looks like a tornado went thru it and I have pictures to edit, descriptions to write ane the day is a-wastin'! It is a PERFECT day out. Enjoy the day. Toodles, ~Tonya

The BeWITCHING hours...

I have been staying up into the BEWITCHING hours again....working like a "mad-women" and have completed two of the things I have been working on. This is a Wee-little Witch and she is just adorable! I love her to pieces. The smalle dollies that I make, well they just have a special place in my heart...
I made her lil bucket and had so much fun doing that. She is chalked full of the olde-thyme charm that I love...I had to take pictures inside, the sun was just "blazin-on-fire" and was so bright, my picture looked "washed-out"...so there are shadows in this pictures...

Wee-Little Witch is just one of the pretties that will be up for grabs on TDIPT Mercantile for the 1st of Aug.
I finished up this sweet dollie a couple of evenings ago. I have been staying anywhere from 2 to 4 am in the morning...SHEER Craziness! Ya have to be, to keep them kind of hours *smirk* I find it so much fun to create when all is quiet...my time to get lost...

She is just so SWEET and could not be happier with the way that she finished up. I am going to call her ~Simply SWEET~ She has loads of detail and I think Sweets will be on the Mercantile too...but it is suppose to be Halloween things on there this month. Sweets was screaming and begging to be made thou.

I will say up burning the mid-night oil again tonight, because I am soooooo close to finishing another handmade or two....and if all goes as planned, I may just have something for ebay. HA! One can only do some wishful thinking. Summertime, summertime, where has it gone?
Have a grand evening. I must scoot, have to go and pick up Jordan from fishing and Courtney from a friends house. Ta-ta for now, ~Tonya

Pip Berries Anyone???

As you may know, I go thru things from time to time and well, I have some pip berry garlands that are still in their sleeves and am selling them. I always have the best of intentions and just tend to "collect" things *smirk* They consider these garlands, the 4 ft. garlands and retail for normally around 15 to 20 bucks a piece...
I thought all 3 were complete, but there is one, that I did take some off of (measure about 32 inches, not including the long stem) and used in my handmades at one time.

If you are interested in purchasing them for your decorating or crafting needs, I will sell all 3 for $25.00 plus shipping.....and I DO NOT charge a handling fee. I do not think it is fair for people should make money off of shipping.

If you are interested in purchasing the pip berries or have any questions, then shoot me an email at dandtturvold@deskmedia.com If you are interested in purchasing the berry garland, I can surely send you a paypal invoice.

I finished up two of my handmades so far and will show them in a wee-bit. I just have to edit them a bit. Toodles for now, ~Tonya

Had to share....

I had such a busy last couple of weeks, with getting kids off to camp...all at different days. I felt like I was on a roller-coaster with so many ups and downs and curves along the way. I wish I could have been like KING and slept! *smirk* He loves taking naps in Ninny's room.

Last week was also filled full of GOODIE's from so many generous people. I received my package from Jackie. A surprise from Renae and then, after driving over 300 miles coming back from getting the turkey's from camp, one of the Mom's gave me a little bag of goodies! She said as a Thank you, for taking her son down and back. How very sweet is that.

She is the founder/owner/CEO of Daisy Blue Natural's. Jenna gave me some lotion, a bar of soap and lip balm...now what women doesn't just love to pamper herself with things like that. At the time, she picked up her son, I didn't realize this....I went to school with her for awhile, while in 6th grade! Funny to look back and think about things like that. Later when I was looking at her liturature that she put in the bag, I knew who she was....

This was Ninny, right before I left her at camp. She was a bit scared, I could tell...her cheeks were a bit "flushed". She is only going into 2nd grade, so this was a BIG DEAL for Mom too. I did worry, but knew she would be okay and love camp...
This was friday, when I picked her up...ALL SMILES. She had FUN, but after we got home, boy she was a CRABBY PANTS. She got lots of sleep and was back to her ususal self, after a couple of days. This was just one of the little girls, she met at camp. She lives quite a few hours away.
So, after an EVENTFUL week, I am glad that things are back to NORMAL, whatever normal is. *smirk* I felt like this past week was my Birthday with so many goodies to open...I should have waited to open them for just a couple of weeks, until my birthday. HA!

I am making some handmades, but they are taking me longer, then I thought. I wanted to get something on ebay this evening, but that just isn't going to happen :( Maybe in the next day or two. We also have Jordan and Courtney's Birthdays to CELEBRATE this weekend. August is so very busy with Birthday's and our Anniversary is coming up...15 years of Marriage. My how time flies. Well, 3 posts today! Aren't you all so lucky. Blessings to each of you, ~Tonya

Thank you Renae...so VERY SWEET!!

Renae of ~My Raggedy Blessings~ was the winner of my blog giveaway...a short time ago. Well, when I have a "giveaway" on my blog, it is just that....a giveaway. I give, without expecting anything in return. I love to make others smile and it is so much fun to just give to make someone feel special, if only for a while...
Renae took it upon herself to as she called it "send a SMILE". Boy, did she ever! I enjoyed opening up the sweetly packaged gift and just wondered what was inside. This was the first thing I seen, when I opened up the package. The witch atop the paper mache box is so tiny. I have never made any round headed dollie that small. She is removeable and has lil star and moon pins holding her in place...

I didn't see allo the rest of the goodies, as they were "tucked" in the tissue paper. I thought OMGoodness, there is more??? She made me two of the most sweetly sentimented journals, that I have ever seen. Is sentimented a word? *smirk* ya get my jist. Any who, so very sweet, all decorated, with lil poems and sayings and I read every one of them...
Here is a picture of the inside of just some of the images and such, that decorate the inside of these journals. Renae even wrote in one of them and I thought that was so very sweet. I think they are almost too pretty for me to write in.

She also sent some sweet smelling room spray...cafe caramel, YUM!! She packaged them up so neat too. Lil prim key and a star. I felt so special and just to think, she sent them...just because, that was the BEST part, just to send a SMILE.

Renae, you put so much thought and time into my wonderful package, I will ALWAYA treasure everything you gave me. You sure touched my heart and you did send a smile.....and made me smile. Thank you for that. You surely did not have to send anything, but I am glad you did :)

I WON - Jackie's Giveaway!!

Jackie of ~TFC Folk Art~ had a Giveaway for her 100th post. I was the LUCKY recipient of that SWEET giveaway. As most of you know, I love HALLOWEEN --- so this was right up my alley!! I never thought I would win, but entered and had it posted on my side bar...to spread the word and for others to enter...
Look at that sweet lil punkin atop that wonderful crackle paper mache box. Love it and it is perfect for the Harvest Season...

And then there is a prim Scarecrow, that can be hung on one of my cupboard knobs for Autumn. And the lil prim dollie, with twig arms and legs...she can of course be left out all year long! She will be in one of my cupboards the whole year through.

Jackie made me a lil note on a cut out heart...so very sweet. I just wanted to say Thank you to Jackie. I love all of my prim goodies. It was so very generous of you, Jackie to have a giveaway and I was so lucky to win. I don't know how Jackie does all the things she does.

I have a couple more posts to post today. I bet you all thought I feel off the face of the earth? Nope, just really busy being a "Taxi" to and from camp and well my kiddies keep me very busy. So stay tuned for some more updates...Toodles, ~Tonya

My SWAP Dollie~

I got my SWAP from Patty (Dogpatch Primitives) today!!! I was so excited to open my package and inside, was my sweet Americana dollie. Patty and I had talked about what we wanted from each other. This swap, was a very different swap, we were paired up with our swap partner and then we could discuss with each other....what holiday/theme we would like from one another. So, I of course had to ask for an Americana girl dollie from Patty...
She is so sweet, I have her sitting on my hutch. I will treasure her always and I adore her. Thank you so much, Patty. I love her.

Today, I have to run into town, get some things for Ninny's camping trip. She will be gone from Tuesday until Friday (two more 300 mile round trips). I will worry about her the whole time, I am sure.

Sydney was suppose to go on Sunday, but we found out that she was not going to be with any of her friends from Church/Sunday School....so we asked (kept our fingers crossed) if we could switch camp dates. They allowed us!! Sydney was so happy.
I must go, lots to do. I hope you all have a great day. Toodles, ~Tonya

~Hector~

And here is Hector! So very neat in person and lots of detail in this guy. I had so much fun making him...he is by far, one of my most mixed-media pieces I have done in a long time. I used fabric, paperclay, ribbon, paper, glass glitter, wool felt, a wood candle holder, paint, nylon tulle, paint, etc...

Lots and lots of layers of paint, to achieve the look he has on his face. In person, it shows so much more detail. He has lots and lots of deminsion as well. All hand sculpted by me...

I hope you enjoyed Hector's pictures. I will have him scheduled to start tomorrow evening and to end on Sunday. Have a beautiful day. I know I will! It is such a nice day here, what more could we ask for. Blessings, ~Tonya

Beautiful...

This is Dayton Oaks. This is where each of my children have spent time are are going too. Each year that my kids go, they come back a little "different" (in a good way), a little bit more mature, a little bit more appreciate and lots of smiles and conversations about the time they spent there. This is one of the paths, in the woods, to one of the cabins and it is beautiful, peaceful and it makes you feel as if time could "stand still". I drove Courtney down yesterday...nearly 300 miles, round trip...

This is the lodge, where they have all of their meals. It was so neat, the first year that Jordan and Courtney went, it was 3 summers ago. They went together to "Hogan Camp", meaning a covered wagon type (wilderness, etc...). Each child had a designated day, where they had to get up and make all the rest of the kids, in their area, breakfast. They were supervised of course, but none the less, an experience they took with them.

In the wilderness camp, they cooked over open fire and had to take turn washing dishes, etc.... If you ask me, every kid should go to a camp like that. I never did get to go to a camp as a kid. So, I am living my children's experience's through them...

This is one of the cabin's...the one that Courtney is at right now, to be exact. There is a counselor or two, that stays with them at all times and noone can walk around by themselves (safety in numbers). There are over 400 acres here and if somone would get lost, well it might just take quite a while to find them.

Hubby had to work, so I drove Courtney down with Jordan and Sydney. Jordan was able to go twice this year and the couple that manage the place, where giving Jordan a hard time...saying he might as well just stay. *smirk* They enjoyed having him there and Jordan continues to tell me how much he loves it there...

A picture I snapped, while we were waiting there. I will go and pick Courtney up on Friday and then back there on Sunday, to drop Sydney off. She has never stayed there...this will be her first time. Her being a "small-fry", will only stay until Tuesday. Yes, lots of running, but it is an experience that they can take with them and will last a lifetime.

I finished a NEW handmade! Something very different for me and am very pleased with the way it turned out. Once I finish editing pictures, I will show you. I am going to schedule Hector for ebay. Ta-ta for now, ~Tonya

~Lucy-Lu & Little Lenny~

Okay, okay, I lied! I did manage to finish up my dollie set and have them scheduled to start on ebay, at 9 pm (central time). I have them listed for 3 days, so they will end on Sunday evening.
This set has lots and lots of detail...I think more then the last set, with hand stitchin' anyways. If you follow me on my blog, then you know how much I enjoy adding all of the details. With this set, I got lost in all of it. Courtney came up with the names for this dollie and skelly. It was actually a joke.

If lights or the TV is left on, I will ask her...who is in the living room or kitchen. etc...? She will say Lucy. Meaning like a "ghost", but in the "funny" sense of it. So, I asked her what I should name them...I said the skelly should be Lenny. She said, the dollie should be Lucy. I said that is kind of just normal. Well, you know we have a cat name Lulu...she said, how about Lulu for the dollie? I said, no...then Lucy-Lu came about and she Little Lenny. I think that is cute!

Here is a full shot of the two. Just adorable in person. The weather and time of day, was not on my side. It was windy, a bit dark with all of the clouds hanging over and well....it is hard to "capture" a dollie in pictures at times. Be sure to stop by ebay and check them out. No Reserve, so it is anyone's auction really. WOW, Lucky you...2 posts in one day! IMAGINE that *smirk* Toodles, ~Tonya

A day in the LIFE...

Awwwww a day in the Life of a CAT! I was cleaning out my back porch (from me making it look like a tornado hit down, since moving my studio upstairs) and well, I was moving things around and Lulu ALWAYS has to be near me. After moving this shelf and getting some things put back in it...he had to go and make himself at home. Funny how he always jumps on my things in my work area but no where else. He is so adorable and near and dear to my heart...
He is so sweet! I got Lulu shortly after my first doggie (as an adult) passed away. I said I never wanted to have another cat in the house and here I have 3 (and Boo - still being fostered). Go figure! I wouldn't trade my kitties for anything...they have so much love to give and bring so many smiles to all or our faces...
Here is King. In this picture, King looks like "Who - ME". HA! He is a ham....and one of the nicest cats I have ever had. I still remember all of the months of watching him freeze and get frost bit and FINALLY, we gained his trust. I was so happy, when we finally earned his trust. It meant no more tears shed, from watching a cat suffer...He now has the life of a King...
Jordan and King have a "bond", that is beyond belief. Jordan can call King and he comes running like a dog. He follows Jordan around like he is a dog. Now, when Jordan is away at camp, he longs for Jordan and misses him. He sits in his room and waits for him...poor kitty. Jordan will be back on Friday and then King will be happy.
Here is little Miss Sydney. Out of all the rides that were in our area for the 4th, she picked the good old Merry-go-round. We had fun and the girls played some games too. I gave each of the kids some money and said, once it was gone, it was gone. Boy, they sure chose wisely what to spend it on. Funny how that works. I said you could spend it, save it or whatever and Jordan, he is becomming my "saver". He only spent 2 bucks. He is saving his money for "bigger and better" things...
Here is a few shots of the fireworks. Hard to catch them with a digital (with the time delay and so forth)...but thought these 2 pics turned out so pretty. It was so chilly out that night. Jordan was fishing while we waited for the fireworks too...
The fireworks above this writing right here, are some of my favorite. They sometimes touch the water below and that looks so neat! I love how they keep falling down. Well, that is it kiddies. I must go. I slept late, because I was up waaaaay late working last night. I am almost done with a new dollie. I will probably list her tomorrow....as today is filled with tie-dye at the Library with the girls. I am going to try and take some pictures there. Toodles for now. ~Tonya

Sharing...

I thought I would share the new banner I made for TDIPT Mercantile! Yes, I am going back to The Mercantile! I was in a funk---as most of you knew. I told TDIPT I needed a break, for a bit...well, I told them I needed to leave actually. I never disabled my button or deleted my page and well, as luck may have it....they said they would love to have me back! I will start again in Aug.

I thought Hannah & Humphrey would be so fitting for a new banner, at least for a little while. I adore this set and I think my rabbit banner has been on The Mercantile long enough *smirk*

We had a nice 4th here...well, there were sprinkles and humidity, but not for long. The fireworks were really nice. They are always nice over Fountain Lake. We had a perfect spot. The kids road on a few rides and of course we did get some "fair food". No, we didn't have the fair here yet, but it was like a mini-fair, with the rides, games and food stands.

I must hit the hay. It is late and I have to get up for church. Jordan goes to camp again! Paintball camp this time, thru the church. He came home with some "Trophies" last year, otherwise known as "battle-wounds". HA! He loves it. Sweet Dreams, ~Tonya

~Happy 4th of July~

Wishing you all a wonderful, safe and happy 4th of July!! We ended the 3rd of July with our city parade. The city use to have the parade on the 3rd, so that our school band could march in the parade. Now, we still have the parade on the 3rd, but no marching band. Because of budget cuts and the expense of being in band, there is no band. How sad....we had such a great band.

We had a beautiful day for the parade...cloud cover and it looked like rain, we did get a few sprinkles, but it held out until after the parade. Here's my girls, they love being all crazy for the holidays. They were so cute today...hounding me all day ------ when are we going to leave! The parade didn't even start until 6 pm. HA! We left right after lunch and hung out in town all day. Didn't leave until after 9 pm.
And here is Jordan (the great fisherman), he didn't want his picture taken, yet he was smirking. You can surely tell he is a teenager! Oh and he is growing by leaps and bounds! he is 13 and is 5'11". He is taller then hubby.
I posted a picture of this man last year. He is one of those parade participants that is not easily forgotten. He has been in the parade, since as far back as I can remember....he is a survivor and by looking at him, I am sure he could tell lots of stories. He fought for our FREEDOM! He normally stands and this year, he is looking more fraile and older....
I really liked this unit in the parade. The "decked" out bus reads "Kids, are the heart of America"! So true. Lots of kids were around the bus, throwing out candy and handing out necklaces...
This is another one that is in the parade every year....it is for The Shriners (I think very highly of The Shriners). The smoke blows out the dragon's nose. It was zig-zagging in the road, for both sides of the street to see. Courtney was standing there (un-guarded) and well they came real close to her (like they were the whole way down), just as they came right in front of her, they "puffed" the smoke! They made her jump! I was laughing. She said, that was the first time they ever scared me Mom. HA!

We had a nice day. We will go to some of the towns events tomorrow....I will keep my fingers crossed it does not rain. There is a 40% chance of rain. It can rain, just late on the overnight. I hope you all have a great weekend. Be safe and make some Happy Memories. Blessings, ~Tonya

~Halloween Hannah & Humphrey~

And here they FINALLY are! Lots and lots of detail in this set. I fuss.ed so much over this set, I don't know why....but am so happy with the way Hannah & Humphrey finished up...
I was on the phone the other night with a friend and I didn't know what to name my dollie...I had Humphrey's name all picked out, but no name for her. My gal pal said, describe her to me, from head to toe. I did and so Hannah she was. And I think Hannah & Humphrey fit perfectly!
They will be listed on ebay this evening, for 5 days and end on Monday evening. Today feels just like fall, it has been so weird out lately. Not typical July weather and it is just fine with me *smirk*...but if feels just like autumn and makes me want to make all the more ~~All Hallow's Eve goodies!!

Well, I must be shakin' a leg and get busy! I have lots to do and little time to do it. I have been up working on Hannah & Humphrey late late late....like 3 am and I am starting to drag. HA! My own fault. Have a Grand Day. Many Blessings, ~Tonya
